Contractors Busted for Stealing Credit Card

Back in February, a Delmar man reported to police that he lost a credit card and he found some unauthorized purchases on his statement.

Three months later, Bethlehem Detectives found that two contractors stole the credit cards and bought things at local stores. And cops found them already in jail.

Richard Berg (above left), 36, of Corinth was arrested on May 6 and Trevor Barber (above right), 32, of Brasher Falls was busted on Tuesday, May 20. Both are charged with felony counts of Identity Theft (1st Degree) and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property (4th Degree), as well as a misdemeanor count of Conspiracy.

Berg was arraigned in Bethlehem Town Court and sent back to the Rensselaer County Jail where he was being held on unrelated charges, police said. Barber was also arraigned in Bethlehem Town Court and sent back to the Warren County Jail where he was being held on unrelated charges.
