Persons is the person charged

A Warrensburg woman is charged with using her company’s credit card for personal expenses, according to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators said a review of records found her using the card for food, insurance, car maintenance, gifts, clothes and to heat her home to the tune of over $67,000.

Lisa Shaw Persons, 42, was arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 22, and charged with one count of Grand Larceny (2nd Degree, Class-C Felony). She was arraigned Wednesday, Oct. 23, in Warrensburg Town Court and was sent to the Warren County jail for lack of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 secured bond.

Back on Sept. 6, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into the misuse of credit cards at North East Underlayments in Warrensburg. Authorities say Persons was a clerk and had been issued a company credit card for instances where she needed to make business-related purchases.

But a review of financial records found that during her time there, she bought groceries, insurance, car maintenance, gifts, clothes and propane and then tried to cover up the purchases by eliminating or altering the business records, investigators said.

Persons is due back in court October 30 at 9:00 am.  This case was investigated by Investigator John Maday.
