A fight in a parking lot at the corner of North Pearl St. and Sheridan Avenue early Sunday caught the attention of some Albany cops and led to the arrest of a man from the Bronx, police said.
Neuville Bryant, 25, of the Bronx, is charged after a brief struggle and found to be in possession of 106 individually wrapped pieces of crack cocaine, police said. This happened around 3:50 a.m. Sunday, February 23 when Lt. James Gallagher and Officer Matthew Jones intervened. Police found out that Bryant had been inside "Legend’s on Pearl,” a bar at 84 North Pearl Street, where he had been repeatedly harassing a woman, police said. The woman resisted and asked bar staff to escort her to her car in fear that Bryant would follow her to the parking lot.
As she was being escorted, Bryant approached and a physical altercation ensued, police said. Bryant was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (3rd Degree), Obstruction of Governmental Administration (2nd Degree) and Resisting Arrest.
He was arraigned in the Albany City Criminal Court and sent to the Albany County Jail.
