A month after his conviction, reports from the courthouse Tuesday morning say Eric Aaron “Boogz” Mallard got 20 years behind bars for stabbing Takim Smith in the ambush at Corliss Park Apartments earlier this year.
Last month, Mallard pled guilty to manslaughter in the fatal attack that police say he and six others plotted in North Troy. Smith, 21, the father of four had won a court settlement in a lead poisoning case and was lured there with the promise of sex by two teenage girls. Instead, after he was undressed, he was ambushed and seven people robbed him.
All the teens got was $32, a necklace and a cellphone. The other teens took plea bargains, getting between six and 10 years in prison each.
